Trustees
Overview
The Trust Board functions as the charity’s directors in accordance with the Companies Act 2006. They bear ultimate legal responsibility for the effective governance of the trust and for ensuring that its charitable objectives, as set out in the Articles of Association, are met. In this capacity, the Board provides strategic oversight and holds the Senior Leadership Team to account, offering robust challenge and support as appropriate.
Board members are drawn from a broad spectrum of professional backgrounds, contributing a wide range of skills and expertise in areas including special education, social care, finance and banking, local authority leadership, and risk management. The full Board convenes on a quarterly basis, while each sub-committee meets three times annually. In addition to formal meetings, members are encouraged to undertake informal visits across the trust throughout the year, thereby deepening their understanding of operational practice and the trust’s impact.
